I thought I'd try doing a blog from my iPod, just to see what it was like.

It's not as easy as typing on a real live hardware keyboard, so this will be a short one. I've actually had a pretty offline day, so I won't say much about any online stories or things I normally see.

I did purchase the new Tweetie 2 iPod app, which is different to the original (obviously, or it wouldn't be version 2). It adds some good stuff, such as the nearby tweets search, saved searches, and a very clever UI trick to refresh, but also loses some bits I liked, including updating your location from your GPS, and more importantly, the dark theme.

On the plus side, you can now point it at a different api root, officially this is something to do with Twitter proxies, but unofficially and non-supportedly, this allows you to poin. An account at Twitter compatible APIs, such as identi.ca, or other statusnet sites. Which means I'll probably start up on identi.ca again.

Finally, hurray for late night random Internet shopping. Very random in this case, we're off to see Ross Noble on Monday night. Row C, right next to the central isle.

Note to self for Monday: wear the plainest T-shirt you have...
